Bună Fredrik, e o plăcere să conversăm din nou. Ce ai mai
făcut în ultima perioadă? Tocmai ce ați lansat cel de al 5-lea album din
carieră Winged Waltz. Ce îmi poți spune despre album? Care vă sunt așteptările
în ceea ce privește acest album?
Bună! Sunt foarte bine, mulțumesc ! Albumul este gata și
asta mă face sa mă simt incredibil de bine. Albumul este un amestec între Grey
dawn și Tunnel of no light dar mai întunecat și mai diversificat. Și totodată
are un sound mai agresiv lucru care lipsește albumelor precedente. Până în
acest moment avem niște review-uri chiar foarte bune. Așteptările mele legate
de acest album ar fi să avem numeroase concerte.
De ce Winged Waltz? De ce acest nume?
Titlul si albumul sunt inspirate din versurile piesei Swarm.Lawrence Jonathan este unul din invitatii nostri pentru a scrie versurile. Cand citesti versurile e ca si cum ti-ar aparea imaginile in minte. E ca si cum ai vedea un film.
Am ascultat cele trei piese postate pe Youtube si preferata mea este Nursed by the cold. Spune-mi cateva cuvinte despre piesa; despre versuri si despre partea instrumentala.
Instrumentalul mi-a venit in minte dupa ce am ascultat albumul nou de la Ghost, Meliora. Ideile au venit rapid si piesa s-a scris singura foarte repede. Nu sunt sigur daca ar trebui sa-mi impart parerea cu privire la versuri fiindca nu as vrea sa le stric opiniile celorlalti. Ramane la latitudinea fiecaruia sa le interpreteze.
Cand ai in spate o cariera muzicala si o multime de albume e mai usor sa concepi unul nou cand stii ca deja esti cunoscut si lumea are asteptari de la tine?
Nu sunt sigur. Daca vorbim despre muzica e tot timpul complicat. E greu sa gasesti ceva original si totodata sa nu te repeti. Pe de alta parte sunt asteptarile publicului. Si asta e si mai complicat.
Acest tur European va include si Romania eventual?
Din pacate nu. Dar sunt sigur ca vom gasi o metoda sa revenim. Mai devreme sau mai tarziu.
In 3 cuvinte ce inseamna October Tide pentru tine?
Distractia de seara, cafea si un mod de a ma detasa de tot.
Ai ceva sa le transmiti fanilor din Romania care ar fi nerabdatori sa va vada?
Vorbiti cu promoterii locali pentru a ne aduce acolo. Sper sa ne vedem cat mai curand !

Hello Fredrik, it's nice to talk to you again! So how have you been?
Later this month you will release the 5th album "Winged Waltz " so
what can you tell me about it? What are your expectations on it?
Hello! I´ve been very good thanx. Album is finished, which
feels incredibly good, so there´s not much to complain about. But what´s to say
about it. It feels like a mix of Grey dawn and Tunnel of no light but more
vicious, dark and diverse. It also have an aggressiveness the other albums
lack. So far we´ve got pretty good reviews. My biggest expectation is that this
album will generate many gigs.
Why "Winged Waltz" ? Why this name?
The title and the whole album layout is inspired from the lyrics of the song Swarm. It's the one of our guest writers, Lawrence Jonathan, who wrote the words for that song. When you read the lyrics it really painting pictures in your head. There's like a movie rolling.
I listened those 3 songs which are streaming on Youtube at the moment, and my favourite is Nursed by the cold. Tell me a bit about it; the lyrics, the instrumental part of it. How have you found reactions to the new material amongst fans?
The instrumental parts came to me when I had been listening to the new Ghost album, Meliora. I really got inspired and the track wrote itself really fast. I'm not sure if I dare to share my vision on the lyrics since I don't wanna ruin anybody else vision. It's up to each listener to build up his/her own vision around the lyrics.
When you have a couple of albums to your name is it easier to write a new one knowing that you have a history to fall back on?
I'm not sure. If we speak musically it's always a bit tricky I guess. Finding new ways and not repeat yourself. The other side is people's expectations. That's even more tricky;)
This European tour will possibly include Romania?
No, it will not. But I'm sure we'll find our way there. Hopefully sooner than later.
